Ayia Napa, Cyprus travel guide & tips

Ahhh Ayia Napa, you can attract anyone in this world. A place for partygoers called by many second “Ibiza”, with city centre full of various clubs, bars and lounges. It seems like the city never sleep. On the other side, apart from the loud city centre, the city looks like an ideal place for families and calm seekers. And it’s true. In Ayia Napa you will find people of different ages that visit this place for various reasons.

One of the most obvious ones is the beautiful landscape of vast sandy beaches, pure clear water and amazing weather. Grab a drink in on of the nearest bars and enjoy the view in the full sun 😉

Nissi beach

Nissi beach is the most famous of all of the 15 beaches that you can find in Ayia Napa. I was only once at Nissi and I have to admit that this was the best one from the other 5, I saw in Ayia Napa, namely Pantachou beach, Loukkos Tou Mandi beach, Katsarka beach, Vathia Gonia and Pernera. All of them are very beautiful as well, but Nissi beach is a special one so I’m gonna show you this one 😉

This little island you see grabs tourist attention. You can easily reach the island by crossing the sea by foot! Yes. There is a little pavement made naturally from sand that links the beach and the island. This is a real Nissi special.

Nissi beach

Pure water like in a swimming pool! The lightest I’ve seen there. This is because of very shallow sea bottom that stretches very far from the strand. If you are living in Europe like me you don’t need to travel miles to areas of Carribean Sea to enjoy dream light blue warm water + this sandy beach, which is very very clean as kept under protection.

Another beautiful place worth seeing is Cape Greco which is the southernmost part of Cyprus. It is located to the east of the town of Ayia Napa.

WARNING!!! Don’t go there by foot. It’s a long way from the nearest bus stop to the actual end of Cape Greco. The best option is to hire a quad, you will feel amazing while riding through this little Cypriot “desert”, in the full sun with the wind playing with your hair.

On the way, you will find a food truck with lots of cold drinks including smoothies! I called it “oasis” as it feels like this when you are there, trust me. Just there you can also find the stairs to the sea! I made an artistic picture of this which you can find on my Instagram @magdabakk. Just type in the search my unique hashtag #oasiscapegreco 😉
